About a month and a half ago my mom had a great plan. Every year the all my sisters, sister in laws and my mom try to get together to go to Time Out For Women. We have been many different places, Oregon, Colorado, South Carolina and Idaho. This year my mom wanted us all to come to Colorado again. So on the morning of one day she texted me and said she was looking at flights for me and that she wanted to make this special weekend possible. I told Bridger and he amazingly suggested we drove out for a longer time since he has some flexibility at the job he has now. I was ECSTATIC! I relayed the information to my mom which made her ecstatic as well and she continued her planning of the weekend. By the end of the day she had all the flights planned and had talked to my brothers, who also live in Colorado, who agreed to come up for the weekend as well :) she is an amazing women! So I got to see all my siblings this past weekend and it was a blast! We weren't supposed to leave until Wednesday of last week but decided to drive all night on Monday (so mister gage would sleep) and arrive in the morning. We didn't tell my parents because who doesn't love a surprise? So we left at 7,drove all night long, stopped at my brothers for breakfast who is about 2 hours away from my parents and continued on and arrived at my mom's work at about 10:30. We stuck Gage up by her desk and hid and SURPRISE! she was so thrilled. Then we went home and surprised my dad, who was home for the day. That day we tried napping when we could and honestly it was kind of a blur but driving all night so Gage was sleeping was totally worth it. When my parents were at work the next day I went through the closets and tried on homecoming and prom dresses from not only my high school days but also my sisters and my mom. So fun! Bridger got an awesome fashion show that was not only our decade but past decades as well, as you can see in the pictures :) On Thursday we also went mini golfing at a place I've gone to since I was little and no matter what anyone thinks it is the BEST mini golf place ever. Bridger will agree. All my sisters arrived on Friday and the fun family weekend began. The weekend was a blast! TOFW is Friday night and Saturday. Bridger offered to watch gage Friday night which was great because on Saturday I had to sit in the back away from my group because our seats were in front of the camera and they don't like babies in front of the camera. Which I totally understand, and I was up with gage often so we just hung out in the back, (and possibly took some selfies to send daddy) where tons of women with babies were so it all worked out. This was the first time any of my siblings were able to meet gage so that was special. TOFW was awesome as always. We had a family barbecue on Saturday night and played games and spent some great time just hanging out and laughing together. Often I really wish I lived closer to my siblings and my parents. I guess it makes the times when we do all get together even more special. All in all it was a great weekend and I'm so glad my mom got it all together. A funny story, the convention was held in Denver. So on Saturday we were looking for a place to eat. We saw reviews on one place that were awesome, great burgers and such. So we went in and sat down. I had my baby and we also had two of my nieces who are 11 and 12. No one came over for a while until finally the bar tender came over and while looking quite confused said, "we really don't serve food here... and we definitely don't serve anyone under 21 because it's only a 21 and older bar..." oops! Haha so we went to another place which had excellent burgers and we really enjoyed it :) Bridger and I had a great visit with my family and my parents during the week that we were there. We headed back Tuesday morning and gage did much better than expected on the drive home. He's such a stud baby :) and I seriously have the best road trip partner ever, Bridger Blaschke.

Gage Easton:the first 5 months
So now our baby boy is 5 months old! He is such a blessing in our lives! Ever since he was born he has had the best sad face (see pictures). He looks like his daddy which is the best for me because when I look at him I see Bridger and I love it! When he was 3 weeks old we drove to California to visit Bridgers dad. He did great! As well as i could've expected. It was super windy and pretty cold but we still bundled him up and took him around. It was probably harder on me than on him. He can now army crawl which he started a couple days ago which is so cute to watch! He loves when we play peek a boo, he loves floating in his little floaty around the pool, loves bath time and is starting to love to splash, he used to love his pacifier but suddenly one day he refused to take any pacifier and so now he just uses them as chew toys. He can sit on his own and has for a couple weeks. He loves sleeping in his crib and is an amazing sleeper! He is just such a joy to have in our lives and he is growing too fast! The wait for him was definitely worth it! Another thing is he absolutely loves being outside, he loves to watch the dogs and hang out in his swing. He loves his oatmeal cereal and is alright with new foods but isn't a huge fan yet. No teeth yet but it's gotta be soon! He's drooled and chewed on stuff the past 2 months.. it's such a waiting game! We love being parents and it is the absolute best to watch our boy grow up. We can't believe that he is almost 6 months! We take a picture of him every month on the 7th on one of his blankets and with his elephant named Humphrey :)

Gage Easton Blaschke:delivery
So I was really wanting to go into labor by myself, but I don't think it was meant to be and I'll explain later in this post. My original due date was March 31. So each week I went in hoping I was further, like most women, but each week I was about the same. Finally at about 40 weeks my sweet nurse practitioner who I saw every other week knew I wanted him out (he had long skinny legs that he would settle right under my ribcage causing crazy amounts of pain in my ribs) so she scheduled me a bunch of tests to make sure that the baby was doing good. So I had an ultrasound making sure there was enough fluid-which there was. Another test to make sure he wasn't under any stress-which he wasn't. But the no stress test was the best! I sat in a nice big recliner, had some snacks and orange juice and just had to have stuff hooked to my belly monitoring the baby to make sure he was nice and comfy. Half way through the nurse made me a quasadilla, so I just sat there happy, comfy and eating. After that day they decided to set an induction date, April 7.
So at 7 on April 7 we headed to the hospital, I had 2 amazing nurses who got me all set. They started the process and things were great, my doctor came and broke my water and things continued to progress. I started to notice that I was bleeding more than I thought I should've, the nurses said it should be fine but they would monitor it. At around 3 I had gotten to the point where I couldn't handle the contractions anymore so I asked if I could get the epidural. The anesthesiologist was in surgery so I had to wait till she was done. Gages heart rate kept dropping during contractions and so they monitored me for about 20 minutes while trying to move me into different positions. Nothing was working so they had to do an emergency c-section. My doctor was so nice, he knew I didn't want a c-section but he didn't know why Gages heart rate was dropping. He tried one last thing before he decided to do the c-section. He tried to put some water back into my uterus, and each time he tried the bag filled with blood so into surgery I went and gage was delivered within 8 minutes of the decision. Everyone was great and my doctor did great. Once they pulled the baby out they rushed him out of the room because he had a bunch of crud in his stomach that he kept throwing up, like blood and fluid that usually gets pushed out if the baby goes through labor. We found out that my placenta was pulling away from the wall and i had blood clots which is why i was bleeding. Gage wasnt getting enough oxygen through the placenta which is why his heart rate kept dropping. They took Bridger out of the room and I had a slight panic attack while they were stitching me up but then they brought Bridger and gage back in and I was good :) we stayed in the hospital 3 days and headed home to start a new journey and it has been a blast! Back to why I think I didn't go into labor on my own. I don't know how long I would've waited at home before going to the hospital. If I hadn't been in the hospital where they could take me quickly to surgery, the outcome for Gage or me could've been very different. It all worked out and was a very big blessing that we had the medical assistance that we needed :)
